Are They Actually Bed and Breakfast Houses?

Magnolia House and Hillcrest Estate are vacation homes in McGregor and Waco, respectively. Chip and Jo’s vision was that they would be the perfect, quiet place for out-of-town guests to stay after visiting Magnolia Market at the Silos.
Although Magnolia House has been referred to as a bed and breakfast on the show and even on social media accounts, Chip and Joanna decided not to go the traditional "B&B" route for several reasons. Hillcrest Estate was not featured on an episode of Fixer Upper, but is also not a "B&B."
First and foremost, the houses are too small to accommodate multiple guests who are not in the same party. Second, serving food at a B&B actually comes with a host of liabilities and complications that our team wasn't staffed to undertake. Third, it just made sense to let these houses be booked by one party at a time, so they could fully enjoy everything in the house: every nook and cranny, every room, and every detail.
We hope that you'll be able to visit soon!
